We're Green Briar... We've been described as "Old Time," "Jazzy," "Bluegrassy," and "Celtic". We don't call ourselves a bluegrass band, opting out of flashy solos. Instead, we weave soundscapes through the collaborative texture of our instruments and Appalachian fiddle and folk songs with stories of gypsies, super-natural love, and sailors. In Europe they'd call us "Trad" and be done with it.
We've graced stages alongside Irish super-groups like Altan and Dervish, and shared the spotlight with bluegrass legends like Chris Thile and Roland White. Our journey has taken us to a variety of venues across the United States, from colleges to coffee houses, and from festivals to fly-ins, always delivering a family-friendly experience.
Our roots run deep, with accolades such as Luke Craver's Mid Atlantic Youth Banjo Championship win at age seven, and Shawn Craver recently sharing the stage with New York Times best selling mythology writer Maria Dahvana Headley. Kansas born Guitarist Josh Luper is equal parts prog-rock and Walnut Valley Festival where he was practically raised. Greenbriar is supported by a diverse fan base of artists, professionals, and families who appreciate our authenticity and passion.
Though our dance moves aren't choreographed by Janet Jackson and our outfits aren't designed by Sam Smith, our professionalism and dedication to our craft are unwavering. We're ready to bring our unique sound and energy to your world, backed by a professional booking agent who ensures a seamless collaboration.
